It is our mission to match project management excellence with the business needs of our clients. We strive to create structures that are as beautiful and environmentally sound as they are functional, safe, and cost-effective. We are certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) for the fabrication of Steel Building Structures and Major Bridges with a Fracture Critical Endorsement.
Our extensive background in steel construction enables us to identify the most efficient path to project completion, allowing us to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Whether an aging bridge girder or a sudden steel failure, we have the bandwidth to prioritize responses to emergency steel repairs with minimal downtime while retaining the highest standards of product quality.
ABE has demonstrated knowledge and professionalism throughout the project thus far. This is exactly what we look for in working with a subcontractor that specializes in a different trade than we do. We need to have a great deal of trust and confidence in their expertise.

Atlantic Bridge & Engineering was founded as a small union steel erector by Victoria Kolenda in 1996.
Victoria's goal was to address the growing need of building and bridge steel contractors in New England.
The first jobs were rebar projects but Atlantic soon transitioned to high-value installation of complex structural steel and precast structures.
Not long after the company's founding, Atlantic was awarded several contracts on the Central Artery Project in Boston, MA.
The company continued to expand their offerings and opened their first steel fabrication shop in 2006.

The Longfellow Bridge spanning between Boston's historic Beacon Hill and Cambridge was built with granite and steel in 1908.
In the last century the bridge has been expanded and rehabbed but in recent years there has been deterioration of the structural components.
MassDOT hired the joint venture of White-Skanska-Consigli to restore the structural integrity of the bridge while maintaining its historical architecture.
It has been decades since rivets have been used in bridge construction yet they play an important role in architectural integrity and aesthetic of historic bridges.
