Services
Sebench Engineering, Inc. (See - Bench) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that has provided fire protection engineering and design services to clients in a wide variety of industries since 2007.
As a full-service fire protection engineering firm, Sebench offers design of fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems, building and life safety code analysis, water supply analysis, hazard assessments, project reviews, and project management.
We have functioned in various roles on contracts, including serving as the prime contractor for single discipline design and non-design services, and as a specialty subconsultant to construction contractors and architectural and engineering (A-E) firms on larger multi-discipline efforts, including design-bid-build, design-build (D-B), and construction manager for at-risk project delivery methods.
Very often, existing conditions and situations require alternative approaches that meet all codes, but need "outside-the-box" solutions.
This is why our name has become synonymous with Heavy Hazard Fire Protection.
Our experienced project managers coordinate efforts between operations and construction/installation efforts to assure a minimal impact on your day-to-day business during the upgrade process.
We have special working relationships with several.
We offer commitment at all levels of building project, from preparing for construction to construction management services.
Sebench Engineering offers a distinct advantage over other fire protection engineering firms.
Our roots are in the insurance industry, so we have a slightly different perspective on Fire Protection.
A large steel company was in a multi-billion dollar acquisition phase and was seeking an independent fire protection engineering firm to evaluate and make recommendations on the newly acquired operations.
After searching for a fit, it was concluded that a new type of fire protection engineering firm was needed; one with specific experience with heavy hazards.
Unlike other fire protection design firms, Sebench started in the insurance industry.
Our first contract was to provide the insurance approval and oversight for all of US Steel's fire protection projects around the world.
Over the past nine years, Sebench has grown to offer consulting as well as complete fire protection design services for our clients' projects.
Our level of expertise ensures that a project is done correctly the first time.
If we have to find a unique solution, we will work with the fire marshal, insurance companies, and many of our manufacturers' representatives to find the best solution and get it approved.
To date, Sebench has supported over $250 million construction value of fire protection projects.
Sebench has been engaged in design-build construction projects in the public and private sector.
Facility types include medical and medical support facilities, warehouses, retail, hospitals, and military installations.
Sebench's roots in performing fire protection engineering services for high hazard industrial occupancies and the insurance industry give us a strong understanding of risk.
We are knowledgeable not only in compliance with building, fire, and life safety codes, but also the prioritization of hazards, cost benefit analysis, and alternate methods of achieving fire and life safety.
