We are currently serving as consultants for individual assignments, as well as providing "On-Call" consulting services on an as-needed basis for many of their professional engineering and construction management needs.
The origins of Lockwood, Kessler & Bartlett, Inc. trace back to the year 1889, which rested between the American Civil War and World War I, where the primary means of short-distance transportation was achieved by using a horse and carriage, North Dakota became the 39th state, and Benjamin Harrison was the 23rd President of the United States.
It was during this year that Thomas Lockwood established a small Brooklyn-based engineering business.
Success and growth allowed Lockwood to take on a partner in 1900, Cletus Kessler, to manage the engineering and drafting section of the company.
LKB's multi-disciplinary staff has extensive experience in providing expert, comprehensive design services for the evaluation, planning, and design, of streets, roads, bridges, parks, water supply, sanitation, and other public works projects.
Services such as design quality control, budgeting and cost control, project scheduling, bid analysis, and field overview of contractor performance are keys to ensuring the success of these projects.
LKB plays a significant role in developing state-wide and local transportation facilities, through planning and feasibility studies, facility design, and construction administration.
LKB's expertise includes structural inspections, structural analysis and evaluation, as well as structural design and construction inspection for major structures such as bridges, buildings, retaining walls, and utility poles.
Our bridge projects range from basic maintenance, to the rehabilitation/replacement of significant portions of existing structures, including full superstructure replacements and widening, along with the design of entirely new bridges.
In addition to our bridge design services, we provide construction support services throughout the construction phase.
