Founded in 1965 by Sam Mancuso, Midstate Mold & Engineering started out offering high-quality Steel Injection Molds for the plastic industry.
In 1985 Mark Glaude came on board and Midstate added a line of injection molding machines offering not only expert mold making but also injection molding.
John Zanardelli, Jack Killian, and Ed Coughlin purchased the company from Sam Mancuso in 1987.
They added their sales expertise to widen their customer base and increased business volume.
In 1990 Steven Devine joined the team to support the increasing injection molding production.
Once the prototype is finished, the mold can be designed and quoted.
From there, our expertise in mold making will become invaluable.
At Midstate Mold, there are several skilled experts with over 180 years' experience in mold making.
As part of the mold making process, we design, quote, build, test, and improve the mold all based on the prototype part.
We have all of the equipment necessary to manufacture prototype and production molds in-house.
We have the ability to make molds right in our shop.
Of course, your end user must be satisfied with the product, however, it is wise to get expert advice on the design of your prototype before you have committed to a wasteful, inefficient, or problem causing aspect.
This is where we come in.
It's highly advisable to get early vendor involvement in the process.
Your vendor knows the tendencies of plastics, molds, and machines to save time, money and waste before you even start production.
We can review and assist as you build a prototype design.
In addition to cost and time, this can save both parties a headache during the production process.
Our production facility is a high-end, efficient operation with several machines and skilled operators.
Our machines operate from 25 - 250 tons.
We are proficient with the high-end plastics such as PEEK (Polyether ether ketone) to PPS (Polyphenylene sulfide) to PTFE (Teflon).
Due to our diverse equipment we are able to handle a wide variety of jobs which greatly range in both their industries, quality of plastics, and the number of pieces produced.
We also have the capability to process high volume jobs.
