Describing yourself in a couple of sentences is not as easy as it seems. Steven Pollema, born in 1984. Raised in a family consisting of social workers, teachers and other very social human beings. For many it was a surprise that I wanted to be a professional musician. I planned on joining the Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam, but first needed to complete my theatre technology course at GLR in the same city.
After an internship at one of the leading sound rental houses at the time, I accepted a job as a full-time sound engineer at the same company, postponing my career in music for a few years. In 2007 I decided I wanted to build my career as a sound designer/engineer instead, and continued as a freelancer. Many years later, I can look back at an impressive list of music, theatre and corporate events in all corners of the world.
For this I cannot thank my clients enough! Nowadays, I work for artists, venues, production and rental houses as a sound designer, engineer and/or consultant.
