MCG Geotechnical Engineering
MCG is owned and managed by Patricia Gemperline and staffed by four competent persons: two engineers, an information specialist; and Dr. Mark Gemperline who provides expert advice, guidance, training, counseling and technical leadership. MCG's services fall into three primary categories - Enviromental Consulting Services, Geotechnical Engineering Services, and Geotechnical Laboratory Services.

Environmental Consulting Services include assessment and coordination of remediation of contaminated sites. Geotechnical Engineering Services include evaluation, analysis, and design of slopes, foundations, earthen structures as well as evaluation of the interaction between structures and soil. Geotechnical Laboratory Services includes soil classification, soil index properties, permeability, soil load-deformation tests and evaluation of Constrained Modulus (Ms) for crushed rock samples.

MCG Geotechnical Engineering assures compliance with environmental laws and regulations, design and implement site characterizations, performed human health and ecological risk analyses associated with physical and chemical hazards, manage programs through and in all steps of the CERCLA process, and prepare reports and legal documents.

MCG provides geotechnical and environmental engineering and consulting services across the continental U.S. Our principal engineer is licensed to practice as a registered professional engineer in North Dakota, West Virginia, Washington, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Texas and Colorado.
MCG specializes in Civil Engineering applications, such as large diameter pipelines, as well as the design and preparation of CERCLA waste site characterization and cleanup verification sampling plans.
Our staff has a wide range of talents and experiences, which allows us to give your project a unique range of perspectives.

Dr. Gemperline received his Bachelor of Science, Masters, and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah (Salt Lake City, Utah), the University of Colorado (Boulder, Colorado), and Colorado State University (Colorado State University) respectively.
Activities: MCG provided guidance and recommendations to the National Park Service (NPS) Environmental Compliance and Response Branch for the Krejci Dump Site remedial action.
MCG provided independent review and oversight of cleanup and restoration activities from 2008 through 2012.
MCG also performed erosion control study and provided quality assurance oversight.
Data usability reports, DUR 1, DUR 2, and DUR 3,i ncluded all cleanup verification data and an analysis of usability for cleanup verification purposes and are available for download on the MCG Documents page.
