I am a facilitator of learning. I believe that learning occurs inside and outside the classroom. I also believe that learning is personal and students' learning experiences are unique and diverse. I want my engineering students to be active and engaged learners. My areas of research interests include engineering education and applied electromagnetics, particularly electromagnetic scattering and nondestructive evaluation, electromagnetic wave propagation and scattering, and electromagnetic properties of materials.
I place value in developing socially engaged engineers. I want students to discover the real impact engineering has on people's lives. That's why I'm partnering with social organizations to develop projects that address the immediate needs of our local community.

In 2017, after completing training at The Ohio State University, I developed a Toy Adaptation program for first-year engineering students at Muskingum.
The success of this program received considerable media attention due to the impact it had on our community.
The program development was possible thanks to a collaboration between our Engineering department at Muskingum University, the Rotary Club of Zanesville, who donated the funds, and the Muskingum County Starlight School.
Our student mentors Staci and Warren Wilson were the driving force behind this success by providing leadership and guidance to our first-year students.
