American Computers & Engineers is one of the first computer sales and rental companies in Los Angeles. Incorporated in 1978 in Brentwood, AC&E has remained until today under the ownership and management of Dr. Ghassan Dib, a structural engineer whose area of expertise is in the theory of Finite Elements. AC&E witnessed the birth of the microcomputer and the advent of the workstation and the graphics engines.
AC&E became a VAR to Sun Microsystems and Silicon Graphics upon their introduction of the networked workstation. Today AC&E maintains a VFX rental and service location at 11500 W. Olympic Boulevard in West Los Angeles, within minutes of most of the Visual Effects industry companies. The latest and most powerful GPUs, like PNY's RTX 3080 and RTX 3090, are installed in their rental systems and kept in stock to address the artist's immediate VFX rental needs.
