This undertaking includes the mapping, locating surveying and updating of internal systems for ComEd's entire underground mainline cable system in conduit.
This project consisted of the installation of a joint duct bank to remove existing ComEd electrical distribution facilities, and existing Level(3) and MCI fiber optic cables from conflict with the Tollway's Elgin O'Hare Western Access corridor.
Under contract to CH2M, HBK Engineering is currently serving as the Program Manager for Utility Relocation for the ISTHA's Elgin-O'Hare project, a 12-mile project include widening of existing toll way infrastructure and construction of new toll ways along Thorndale Boulevard and around the west side of Chicago's O'Hare airport.
With the anticipated large volume of information that can be collected and managed through a GIS platform for associated municipality programs and infrastructure maps, our team develops GIS based electronic data capture tools and GIS Data management systems.
We utilize HBK owned and hosted ESRI server to assist with the tracking of collected data and defined level of accuracy.
The GIS data system will also serve as a temporary repository for collected documents and information as well as for infrastructure / asset location data located, collected, photographed and surveyed in the field.
