Bennett Preservation Engineering is a structural engineering firm focused exclusively on structural engineering for historic preservation. Services include evaluation of structural issues, restoration, structural strengthening, and seismic upgrades. With two structural engineers, two architectural preservationists and an engineer-in-training on staff, we are able to advise on, design, and specify repairs for a variety of historic materials.
The staff members have extensive preservation backgrounds and are focused on the long-term conservation and maintenance of historic structures. In addition to having degrees in civil engineering, architecture, interior architecture and structural engineering, all five staff members have graduate degrees in historic preservation or teach in a master's program in historic preservation.
The staff members of Bennett Preservation Engineering have worked on several hundred structures built in the 17th through the early 20th centuries. These structures range from ruins to historic churches in regular use.
