Nute Engineering was established in 1945 by founder J. Warren Nute.
He moved the company from 4th Street in San Rafael into the historical building where it currently resides today.
The building was formerly the residence of the prominent Cheda family of San Rafael, and was moved from 4th Street at A Street, San Rafael to its current location at 907 Mission Avenue, San Rafael, California.
