William (Bill) Snell moved to Sarasota in 1961 and quickly became synonymous with structural engineering in South Florida. His love of the profession, care in design and overall respect of his clients laid the foundation for Brian Snell to follow him with Snell Engineering Consultants in the early 90's. As the office grew, Bill continued to aid in design and inspections until 2000.
Through years of company growth, in both legacy and client base, Brian continued to lead Snell Engineering into a top tier structural engineering firm working on projects throughout the state. With new direction from Principals Cord Van Nostrand, P.E., S.I. and Curtis Ross, P.E., Snell continues to grow in reach and project capability, while upholding the quality of service that was established decades ago.

Curtis was born in South Florida and has spent his lifetime in the state.
He is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an Emphasis in Structures.
Curtis has worked in construction since he was a teenager and in 2013 received his General Contractor's license in Florida.
He is a licensed PE in Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee and Texas and serves as the chairman and founder of the local Structural Engineering Institute as well as serving on the City of Sarasota's Board of Rules and Appeals.
