From soils to suspended ceilings, from rebar to welding, North Star Engineering has you covered!
Many projects require a certain number of special inspections that are specified by code officials as well as the project designer.
These inspections typically require an inspector with more specific knowledge and expertise than regular inspections, and can cover things such as soils, rebar placement, anchor bolt placement, structural steel welding, and suspended ceiling grids.
Local building officials and inspectors typically do not have the expertise to conduct these inspections, and the responsibility of hiring a firm that does is placed on the project owner.

The State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) requires all septic systems to be installed in compliance with DEC standards and regulations.
This presents an obstacle that the DIY home builder may not be able to overcome on his/her own.
North Star Engineering can provide you with the expertise needed to navigate this obstacle and ensure that your septic system design is efficient and expedient.
DEC requires that all septic systems installed in Alaska must be installed by either a certified installer, approved homeowner, or under the supervision/inspection of a registered engineer.
