Services
GNCB is recognized by the AEC industry for our ingenuity and versatility as structural engineers.
In our 50 years of practice, we have expanded our services to include historic preservation and geotechnical engineering while maintaining the same high-quality structural engineering expertise upon which the firm was established.
Strategically located between the New York City and Boston Metropolitan areas, GNCB services Clients and projects throughout the country in a variety of sectors.
The most successful construction projects, regardless of size, are the product of teamwork and innovation.
Our engineers at GNCB are proficient in the design and analysis of all building materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
We use 2D and 3D analytical software to streamline the design process and customize elegant, creative, and feasible structural solutions to architectural challenges.
GNCB produces high-quality construction drawings using Autodesk Revit, a 3D drafting and building-information-modeling (BIM) software.
With this software, we are able to maximize communication with Architects and their team of consultants during the design phase of the project.
Our Historic Preservation and Restoration Group is comprised of team members with educational backgrounds in structural engineering and historic preservation and whom are experienced with applying The Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties to projects throughout the northeast.
GNCB is a member of the CT Trust for Historic Preservation and meets the Professional Qualifications Standards of the Department of the Interior.
Existing and historic structures differ from new building design since they require the existing conditions to be documented and assessed early in design.
Geotechnical site investigations document site-unique characteristics such as depth to bedrock or liquefaction susceptibility.
A subsurface exploration program can include tasks such as test borings, rock coring, water table monitoring, or laboratory analysis of soil samples.
This information is critical for foundation analysis and for project planning in the early stages.
GNCB's engineers are familiar with a wide range of subsurface conditions and foundations types.
Our combined structural and geotechnical capabilities are a benefit to our Clients since we can select the appropriate and most cost effective foundation system early on in the project.
For all your engineering and consulting needs from historic preservation to structural and geotechnical expertise, count on our team of professionals.
We have over 50 years of experience and look forward to tackling the next exciting and challenging project with you.
