Providing refurbishment and in-house flow testing of both gas and liquid fuel nozzle components for over 40 years. With inlet fogging, Fern Engineering has added thousands of MW's to the grid since the early 90's! Fern Engineering has been providing refurbishment and in-house flow testing of both gas and liquid fuel nozzle components for over 40 years.

Our engineering-driven process will clean and inspect, recondition, rebuild, flow test, and calibrate your fuel nozzles to ensure proper fuel distribution. Fern's specialty hardware for Rolls Royce Avon and Curtiss-Wright Mod-Pod, including our uniquely engineered Exhaust Transition Duct, are designed to outperform problematic OEM components. Fern Engineering has been helping operators increase turbine output for over 20 years.

As the pioneer in gas turbine inlet fogging our extensive knowledge of the operational nuances of gas turbines sets us apart from others. Fern Engineering has earned a reputation over the past 50 years for helping our customers address their operational issues efficiently and economically.
Services
Fern Engineering's headquarters, located in Wareham, Massachusetts, USA, is a fully equipped engineering facility dedicated to gas turbine design and repair.
Fern Engineering was founded in 1967 as an engineering consultant company specializing in gas turbines.
The company originally focused on providing design and failure analysis services to gas turbine owners and manufacturers.
In 1979, the company was acquired by Thomassen bv, a Dutch gas turbine manufacturer.
The company was commissioned to design a highly efficient 10,000 horsepower industrial gas turbine.
Fern Engineering has the experience and capabilities to expertly repair heavy frame fuel nozzles.
Our diagnostic skills and enhanced reporting add an extra measure of value to the reconditioning of gas turbine fuel nozzles.
Our nozzle facility at Fern Engineering is dedicated solely to refurbishing fuel nozzles and other gas turbine components.
We are the industry leader for good reason.
Our facility specializes in distillate, gas, dual fuel, water injection and both air and mechanically atomized nozzles.
Our uniquely engineered parts improve efficiency for owners and operators of the Rolls-Royce Avon powered CR Coberra, DR 160/200 and GEC-EAS packages.
There's nobody that understands hot gas leakage from the Rolls-Royce Avon like we do at Fern Engineering.
Our specialty hardware, including our uniquely engineered Exhaust Transition Duct, is specifically designed to outperform problematic OEM components and eliminate power-robbing hot gas leakage.
As the owner or operator of a Rolls-Royce Avon package, you are losing valuable power due to hot gas leakage if the original gas generator-to-power turbine transition duct is being utilized.
Don't trust your gas turbine to just anyone.
Our inlet fogging and wet compression systems deliver the power you need at a cost that makes sense.
Our inlet cooling systems (also known as fogging systems) augment the power output of a gas turbine in warm weather conditions.
With all stainless steel materials, Fern Engineering's inlet cooling systems use positive displacement pumps to pump demineralized/de-ionized water at 3000 psi (207 bar) from the pumping skid to spray nozzle manifolds located in the air duct downstream of the filter housing.
