The concept of the Fire Stream Triangle Is that your agency needs all three sides to develop Gold Standard Fire Streams from Master Streams to Handline Streams. A hose with low kink, low nozzle whip, appropriate weight, proper friction loss vs. water velocity for flow. A robust construction to combat thermal and mechanical insult on the fire ground and attain a service life of 10 years with no elongation or delamination issues.
The diameter on the hose will actually be the internal diameter of the hose. While this alone will not be, and there is no, silver bullet, this is a step in the right direction.

The 1 3/16-inch tip is about attaining the largest possible flow at 50psi nozzle pressure while maintaining the true "handline" characteristics of deployability while flowing and advancing through a structure.
It is about increasing the useable flow of the ADULTS handline by producing a vastly overwhelming "critical flow" stream to meet modern fuel load challenges such as high heat release rate "fire loads" encountered by the fire service today in commercial / large body fires.
The two common smooth bore tip sizes used on 2-inch attack handlines are 11/8-inch and 1-inch.
