After graduation from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Dean worked for Farm Credit Services and Colorado Cattle Feeders Association.
In 1991, Dean was recruited to work for the Nebraska Cattlemen as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs.
Under this role, Dean developed the Cattlemen's Environmental Education Program, which was the first environmental compliance program of its kind in the nation.
After graduation from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Dean worked for Farm Credit Services and Colorado Cattle Feeders Association.
