The AKAT Corporation was previously known as AK Systems, which was established in 1995. The AKAT Corporation has been primarily supporting the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Aerospace and Engineering Technology Division. AKAT has been providing electrical system design, developments, and testing for both flight and non-flight projects. In the past, AKAT has been involved in the design and development of many commercial and aerospace avionics hardware.

AKAT principal employees each have over twenty years of experience in system, electrical, and software engineering in design & development of various NASA/GSFC Satellite subsystems. Their experience includes support of complex and/or technologically challenging projects as well as conducting technology assessments and making recommendations for technology insertions.

Further experience includes making trade study assessments/recommendations and leading and supporting CDR and PDR reviews. AKAT has been providing technical consultation and advice regarding design issues, development and test approaches, and assessment of test results.

The JWST will offer unprecedented resolution and sensitivity from long-wavelength (orange-red) visible light, through near-infrared to the mid-infrared (0.6 to 27 micrometers), and is a successor instrument to the Hubble Space Telescope and the Spitzer Space Telescope.
AKAT, has been involved with JWST from its beginning, starting in pre-phase A. We lead the systems engineering and conceptual design of Integrated Science Instrument Module (ISIM) electronics including the Intsrument Focal Plane Electronics and Instrument Command and Data handling.

AK Aerospace Technology Corp. is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to participate in Instrument integration, test and science data verification for a mission at the NASA/GSFC, Greenbelt MD location.
Provide Mission and Instrument systems engineering support including environmental test support and test plan developments across multiple subsystems.
Including requirement and resource allocation verifications.
Perform investigation, troubleshooting and analysis in support of engineering and flight instruments and spacecraft subsystems.
