The Long Island Model Railroad Engineers is located on Long Island in Medford, New York. Our scale train club was established in 1976 to promote the hobby of Model Railroading. LIMRRE currently has 2 enormous operating prototype Model Railroad layouts. The club's HO and N scale layouts occupy space of over 2000 square feet. LIMRRE operates both DC and DCC railroading systems with multiple divisions and large yards.
The Long Island Model Railroad Engineers is a Sustaining Member of the NMRA and while our layouts are in HO and N scales, we welcome Model Railroaders in all scales to join us. As a model railroad Club, our mission is to "Promote Model Railroading" by designing, constructing, operating and maintaining model train layouts. In addition, we always encourage others to become interested in this hobby which has so much to offer - carpentry, electrical work, painting and scenery design to name just a few.
We want to learn from other model railroaders and we love to share what we ourselves have learned about model railroading.
