Conditions & Services: At the request of the District, KLM was called in to confirm the tower was built in accordance with AWWA D100-11 recommendations and standards. An evaluation found the shell plates were out of peaking and banding specifications. KLM met with the owner and contractor to assist in resolving the issue. The contractor took it upon themselves to replace the shell plates that were not in compliance.
KLM was retained to provide AWS and NACE coatings inspection services during the installation of the new shell plates and coating application of the tower.
