Established in 2002 by Christopher L. Rounds, P.E., CR Engineering is a mechanical engineering consulting firm that provides Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Plumbing, and Fire Protection design. We are licensed to provide professional engineering services in Nevada and California. Our staff includes 1 Principal Engineer, 2 Project Managers, 3 Design Engineers, 1 Draftsman, and 1 Office Administrator.
With 7 staff members graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, CR Engineering is deeply rooted in Northern Nevada. We keep current with technological advances within our industry. Extensive use and understanding of energy simulations, thermal load calculations, building information modeling (BIM), and computer aided design (CAD) software ensures our clients benefit from the latest technologies available.
All projects are developed using the latest version of AutoCAD or Revit MEP. Extensive knowledge of mechanical design, codes, and standards allows us to meet clients' needs and local authorities' requirements.

While attending the University of Nevada, Reno, Chris obtained extensive experience working for Conley & Associates, an electrical engineering consulting firm.
Project experience included commercial offices, schools, colleges/ universities, well water pump houses, and sewage treatment plants for clients such as the State of Nevada Public Works Board, University of Nevada Reno, and Washoe County.
After graduating from college, Chris joined Petty & Associates as an entry level mechanical designer.
