The discovery of two large roof slab spalls stopped the installation of the new built-up roof. Slab spalls measured 11 ft x 10 ft and 10 ft x 9 ft with a depth of 3 inches. A properly cured concrete mix was required in order to prevent cracking and remove the moisture from the new concrete to achieve proper adhesion of the new roof components. Due to concrete spalling and deteriorated reinforcing bars reducing the structural integrity and causing unsafe conditions, restoration is required. Concrete repairs are being performed on the balustrade railings, rear patio slabs, front walkway slabs and stairs.
