Tri-Coastal Marine (TCM) was incorporated in 1983; all shares are owned by the employees who manage the company. Our company was established for the design, construction and preservation of historic ships; that has been our principal business since the restoration of the 1877 iron barque Elissa. We have a variety of clients, both private and governmental, including: international regulatory bodies, large shipping companies, maritime museums, and commercial and naval shipyards.
TCM is a modern naval architectural firm with fully computerized capabilities for advanced engineering analysis. Andrew D. Davis, PE: Chief naval architect. MS., Naval Architecture, U.C. Berkeley, 1991. BS., Naval Architecture, U.C. Berkeley, 1989. BA., Dickinson College, 1973. Prior to joining TCM in 1991, Andy worked as a builder and designer of large sailing vessels; notably, he was the builder of the Spirit of Massachusetts.
He combines practical building expertise with the theoretical knowledge and insights of a trained engineer.
