Advanced Machine & Engineering (AME) was founded in 1966 out of Rockford, Illinois by Willy Goellner-a man of drive and determination who immigrated to America from Germany in 1958.
Originally known as Advanced Engineering Co., AME offered design, engineering, and consulting to industries including machine tool, assembly, and packaging out of a small 1,000 square foot office space in Loves Park, Illinois.
Relocating to Rockford, Illinois in 1968 expanded the AME footprint to 33,371 square feet, which included a new R&D facility.
Is your workholding holding you back?
Reach out for a free consultation.
Our application experts will ask the right questions so our fixture designers can concept advanced workholding systems that get you set up for success.
We don't push products.
We design, build, and integrate complete workholding systems designed around your machining requirements.
There's a thousand ways to hold a work piece and we work together with you to find the BEST method and the BEST system.
Our manufacturing facility centrally located in America's Midwest supports complete milling, boring, turning, EDM, OD, ID grinding, and one of the industry's largest CMM's to check each fixture for precision.
AMROK Tombstones and Fixture Plates are designed to hold the industry's tightest tolerances for flatness, parallelism, perpendicularity, surface finish, and hole location.
All Tombstones and grid plates are built and then inspected using AME's in-house Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
AMROK tombstones, tooling columns, and fixture plates are manufactured to the highest precision and quality standards with our precision tolerances.
At Advanced Machine and Engineering, workholding is what we do.
We build products and solution that stand the test of time while also providing you with endless possibilities in your future in workholding.
AME's workholding group is outfitted with engineering experts and workholding specialists that work with your team.
Change parts manually with fixtures tailor-made to fit workpieces of nearly any shape or size.
Maximize efficiency of your vertical machining center with a custom 4th Axis Workholding Solution.
Because tombstones are the foundation for workpiece during machining, their free vibration dynamic response becomes part of the entire machining system.
The goal of this effort was to measure the dynamics individually and how those dynamic forces affect the entire machine set up.
All tests were conducted by Dr. Tony L. Schmitz, a world renowned mechanical engineering professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and joint faculty at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, who specializes in machine tool research and manufacturing engineering.
