Mr. OJ Harper (Harp) founded the Harper Engineering Company out of a desire to find innovative solutions to technical challenges he observed in aircraft interiors while working for The Boeing Company. After attending college at the University of Washington, Harp had a distinguished career with The Boeing Company until he retired in 1967. Upon retirement, Harp's next ambition was to create what is now the Harper Engineering Company.

From humble beginnings, Harper Engineering is now considered one of the premier producers of mechanically engineered devices for aircraft interiors. Today our aircraft-certified products include stowage bin latches, ceiling latches, door locks, oxygen bottle brackets and seat track fittings. We have also expanded into polymer composites where we produce certified products made from continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastics.

Our dedicated leadership, innovative culture and vertical integration enable us to solve our customer's needs by designing, testing, certifying and manufacturing products in extremely short time-frames.
Services
Harper Engineering co-developed the high strength 787 seat track fitting which features Inconel fasteners and a forged titanium body, specifically to streamline the OEM seat installation process.
The latest in seat track fitting design offers higher strength, and lighter weight than any other seat track fitting on the market.
These aluminum seat track fittings boast greater than 14,000 pound capability, and are available in either a bolt-down or snap-in configuration.
Harper Engineering currently produces lightweight, high performance, press-formed CFRTP stowage bin covers for 787, 747-8, and 777X aircraft from our composites manufacturing and injection molding facility in Kent, Washington.
We are actively developing additional capabilities in composites manufacturing such as hybrid over-molding of CFRTP components, as well as investing in advanced composites research activities.
Harper Engineering has the development capability and the manufacturing capacity to support new projects for customers seeking next generation, high performance composite aircraft interior products.
Harper offers a wide variety of door latch systems for galleys, lavatories, crew rests, and other interior monuments, as well as high security applications like flight deck doors with ballistics requirements.
Our door latch offerings include unique features such as overridable key locks, combination locks, decompression release mechanisms, multi-point latching, seamless bezels, and more.
Harper offers a variety of hinges from simple spring loaded piano style, to complex 6-bar mechanisms where the door has a strict travel path requirement, and many other unique applications such as dampened constant force shelf bin door hinges that are integrated into the bin sidewall panel for maximum luggage capacity.
We offer an exciting benefits package including employer paid medical, dental, vision, STD, 401(k), company paid life and AD&D insurance, vacation, holiday and sick pay and educational assistance.
Dependent benefits coverage, additional life insurance and LTD are available.
Harper Engineering Co. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
