NSE has been providing engineering services for design, analysis, testing, and structural certification since 1996. NSE has extensive experience with structural analysis and certification of composites on aerospace applications and has been involved in several major commercial aircraft programs. NSE has been actively involved in a range of applied R&D projects for composite structures such as progressive damage analysis, structural optimization, and the development of analysis software tools.

NSE has leveraged its aerospace experience in finite element modeling, fracture mechanics, and fatigue analysis to support design and analysis of the next generation of wind turbine blades.
Services
NSE Composites was founded in 1996 with a passion for the future of advanced composites.
Since then, NSE has completed hundreds of projects spanning a wide range of industries, and has played an important role in the development of composites for use in primary structural applications in commercial aircraft.
NSE Composites is managed by two principal engineers: D.M. Hoyt and Doug Graesser.
Together with NSE's engineering staff and consultants, they bring several decades of combined experience to any composite structures application project.
NSE's expertise includes the design, analysis, optimization, testing, and certification of composite structures, as well as engineering software development.
NSE's engineering team, along with its network of consultants, researchers, manufacturers, and test labs, can provide the following services related to composite materials and structures:Structural Design & Analysis, Finite Element Analysis, Structural Testing, Research & Development, and Analysis Software Development.
NSE Composites was contracted by General Electric (GE) Renewable Energy to develop static and fatigue analysis methods to predict failure in wind blade laminates and joints using composite damage mechanics and fracture mechanics.
NSE Composites also supported GE Renewable Energy on wind turbine blade sub-article test design, test management, and analysis-test correlation.
NSE Composites was contracted to provide structural analysis and finite element modeling for the development of Knight & Carver's highly innovative wind turbine blade, known as the Sweep Twist Adaptive Rotor, or STAR blade.
