For more than 60 years, the Flint Regional Science & Engineering Fair (FRSEF) has encouraged young minds to explore the worlds of science and engineering, helped students learn new skills, and experience the pride of accomplishing challenging tasks. We are an affiliated fair of the International Science & Engineering Fair and proudly point to the heritage of success of our students on the global stage.

Whether in person or in this current virtual environment, we welcome one and all to join fun! The Flint Regional Science Fair Board was pleased to present the 2019 Educator of the Year award to David Spence, . Whether you donate money, time, or your expertise in other ways, the Flint Regional Science & Engineering Fair welcomes your help throughout the year.

Services
The Flint Regional Science & Engineering Fair (FRSEF) is administered by Flint Science Fair, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
Our Vision: To inspire and empower curiosity, investigation and understanding through science and engineering.
The Flint Regional Science & Engineering Fair is one of three recognized "regional" fairs in Michigan affiliated with the International Science & Engineering Fair.
Now into our sixth decade of service, FRSEF continues to provide a forum for students to develop their scientific and engineering talents and to promote careers in science and engineering.
Flint's first major science fair was the brainchild of Richard M. Harbeck, a science teacher at Flint Technical High School.
The event was widely publicized and attracted more than 5,000 visitors!
Dr. Wernher von Braun, one of the fathers of modern rocketry and a leading figure of the U.S. space program, was the special guest and keynote speaker at the first fair.
That first fair had only Junior and Senior divisions.
One of the participants, a 7th grader named David Hill, is currently a Flint Science Fair, Inc. board member (he signs your award checks).
The Flint Regional Science & Engineering Fair has a 60-year record of success in watching our students go on to even greater rewards in state wide, national, and international competitions and programs.
Akash Rathod - 4th Place in Environmental Engineering, 3rd Award USAID Science for Development.
Brandon Zhu & Daniel Zhang (team project) - $3,000 Special Award from the Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Assoc.
Samuel Maher - 1st Place & Grand Prize, plus Professional Awards from the American Meteorological Society, the American Statistical Association, the U.S. Dept. of Commerce Oceans and Atmosphere, and the Water Environment Federation(Stockholm).
The FRSEF gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the following organizations and their commitment to the youth of our region.
Sponsors support the Flint Regional Science & Engineering Fair with donations of $1,000 or more in funds, or goods and services.
Without their generous support, the Fair would not be possible.
Whether you donate money, time, or your expertise in other ways, the Flint Regional Science & Engineering Fair welcomes your help throughout the year.
If you'd like to volunteer, please email your interest to director@flintsciencefair.org.
Students attending any public, parochial, private, or home school anywhere in the greater Mid-Michigan area (e.g., Bay, Clinton, Eaton, Genesee, Ingham, Lapeer, Midland, Saginaw, Shiawassee, St. Clair, and Tuscola counties), or in any other Michigan county not served by an ISEF affiliated fair.
Group Projects (made by more than one student) are judged against the individual student projects within the appropriate grade level.
Group members must be within the same division.
All judging uses these categories; however, only the Junior Division will earn awards specific to these three categories (i.e., a first place award for each category).
