Ct Engineering
CT Engineering provides structural engineering services on architecturally designed building projects. We are a small firm working primarily with repeat and referral clients from the architectural, developer and construction communities. We focus on cost-effective structural design solutions leading to successful projects for our architect and developer clients - who generally hold us in high regard.
Services
CT Engineering was established in 1984 by Charles Griffes as a structural engineering practice with service on architecturally designed buildings in the private developer market.
We have slowly grown over the years with the expansion of our repeat and referral client base, but have kept the company size limited to about 15 to 20 employees in order to maintain the small company flavor.
We currently have 10 structural engineers on staff, two CAD/Revit operators plus clerical support.
In 2007 the company changed from a PLLC to a corporation and added four new shareholders.
We make every effort to meet our clients' needs for cost effective structural engineering design.
We communicate closely with the owners, architects, and contractors on our projects to be sure the specific problems are understood - then we work at creative solutions for the difficult problems.
Our structural design philosophy at CT Engineering is to work closely with architects and contractors to provide a design that is both efficient in its use of materials and economical to construct.
For concrete buildings this means close attention to the forming costs as well as a structurally efficient design which minimizes concrete and reinforcing steel quantities.
We love our contractors, and often call them up to "bounce ideas" off them, and gain their valuable insight when we are in the midst of design.
This adds to our design experience, and provides valuable impetus for continual development and improvement in our designs and techniques.
We strive to maintain good working relationships with our architect clients, and a tight working relationship is critical in today's very competitive environment.
Also exploring new aspects of our relationships is currently being driven by recent software development using a BIM platform.
