Western Engineers & Geologists, Inc. (Western) is a general civil engineering and geology firm that provides professional services for various types of engineering, geological, construction management, and inspection to industries, government agencies, corporations, and residents of the regions we serve. The staff at Western consists of civil engineers and geologists who provide over 50 years of combined experience.

They have the unique ability to offer a wide range of services for a firm of its size. Not only does each member of the technical staff have expertise in one or two specific fields, but they all possess extensive cross-training in other fields. As a result, Western can accomplish projects that are typically completed by firms with a much larger staff which allows Western to be a more cost-effective solution for its clients.

Additionally, this extensive cross-training will lead to solutions which will result in successful projects for our clients. Our staff has a wide range of skills and extensive professional background which is an incredible asset to the communities of the Southwest Wyoming region and beyond.
Services
Our staff has completed approximately ten large-scale drill-and-grout subsidence projects, with a total value exceeding $30 million dollars.
These projects consist of gathering and interpreting existing mine maps and tying them to modern surveys, laying out the drill pattern, performing exploratory drilling to validate the design layout, and then overseeing the production drilling and injection grouting of the project area.
Our staff of engineers, geologists, and technicians has overseen all aspects of these projects including design, bidding, testing, inspection, and construction management.
Our staff has performed several million dollars' worth of subsidence mitigation projects.
These services generally pertain to the mitigation of subsurface voids left behind from historical underground mine workings.
To complete these projects, Western conducts extensive research to determine what information about the mine workings exists.
Risks are evaluated to determine if any buildings, infrastructure, or people are at risk of being damaged or hurt.
Once this information is obtained and compiled, it used in conjunction with modern survey information to create the project area and design the borehole pattern that will best fill the existing voids.
Western can provide geotechnical services for a wide range of projects from residential housing to large industrial projects.
Our staff is knowledgeable in deep and shallow foundation systems, ground modification, geosynthetics, earth retaining systems, and vibratory loading.
The professionals at Western have experience with time-tested and novel solutions to difficult geotechnical problems, which allow us to find solutions for our clients that are cost effective and offer the best life-cycle efficiency for the project.
Water Resources Engineering is the design and implementation of piping, waterways, and control structures to convey or impound water to alleviate flooding, provide drinking water, or manage and clean storm and wastewater.
The professionals at Western Engineers & Geologists, Inc. have been involved in virtually all aspects of water resources engineering and management.
They have completed projects that involved simple grading plans to move water away from buildings and structures, to involvement in large flood mitigation projects that protect communities from flood damage.
Western Engineers & Geologists, Inc. is committed to being the "go to" provider of infrastructure improvements in its region.
Our professionals are experienced in the design of streets, roads, and highways, utilities such as water, storm, and sewer, and land design.
Engineers at Western have designed and overseen the construction of city streets for residential and business areas, gravel surface roads for counties and energy companies, and high speed highways for industries and government agencies.
