I retained Synergy Forensic Engineering and Chris W. Korinek, PE to assist in the defense of a personal injury action involving an individual who sustained an electrical shock which resulted in burns. Chris conducted numerous on-site inspections at the accident scene and was able to determine the cause of the electrical failure and resulting shock despite a host of complicating factors.

I found Chris to be professional, timely and efficient in his work. He was able to provide opinions which were well-reasoned, scientifically supported and easily understood by non-engineers despite the complexity of the case. It was a pleasure to work with him. I engaged Synergy Forensic Engineering last year while in the middle of a difficult situation with one of our product lines.

I brought some wheel assemblies to Synergy for Chris and Tim to analyze, and they quickly began narrowing down causes of the problem. Within 2 days, testing verified Tim's initial thought process: the bearing races on the wheel assemblies were elongating while the product was under load, causing the wheel assemblies to flex or bend slightly and perform poorly.

Fractured supports and fasteners are common causes of product failures.
Synergy Engineers have experience with product design, materials, manufacturing processes, and use/abuse to provide peak performing Forensic Engineering Analysis.
Our multi-disciplinary philosophy gives us the expertise to have a deep understanding of how things work and why they fail.
This knowledge allows us to answer questions regarding loss of function, fire, explosion, injury, and other losses.
When critical components fail due to fracturing, overheating, leaking, electrical insulation breakdown, or insufficient grounding, injuries can occur.
This is why an injury analysis is often performed.
Failures happen due to poor design, poor manufacturing, overloading, abuse, misuse, etc.
We know how to determine precisely what failed and why it failed.
Unfortunately, electrical shocks usually happen because a normally safe system has simply broken down.
Subsequently, injuries often occur because problems negate a level of safety built in to prevent shocks.
