Services
MCB Engineering Associates, LLC was derived from Joseph F. Barbieri and Associates, a land surveying and civil engineering firm which began in the 1970's.
Upon retirement of the founding principal, Joseph F. Barbieri, Sr., in 2002, Joseph F. Barbieri and Associates redefined themselves exclusively as a land surveying firm.
The engineering portion of the business became MCB Engineering Associates, PC, which then became an LLC in 2004.
Today, MCB provides many land develpment services include residential and commercial site planning, subdivision design, storm water management, flood plain analysis, septic system design and soil logging / soil permeability testing.

While MCB Engineering Associates is a diversified civil engineering firm, site planning is probably our number one service.
Whether you are developing a vacant property, adding on to an existing structure, chances are you will need a site plan.
A site plan typically shows the changes to the site, provides grading and drainage information and many other details needed for permits and construction.
MCB specializes in site plans for residential, commercial and industrial sites.

Since 2004, the State of New Jersey has required more stringent management of storm water runoff.
All land development projects need to consider storm water management as part of the scope.
If you plan to disturb less than one acre of land and add less than 1/4 acre of new impervious cover, then your responsiblities are lowered.
However, if you exceed these thresholds, your project is considered 'major development' by the State and a more sophisticated approach is required.
Whether major or non-major development, MCB Engineering Associates provides the services necessary for storm water management.

Approximately 25% of houses in New Jersey are still on septic systems.
Today's environmental regulations make it tougher and tougher to expand the sewer services areas, so at least for now, it seems that 1 in 4 homes will remain on septic systems for the foresable future.
Whether you are building a new home or are selling your existing home with a cesspool, whether you are in the mountains of Sussex County or on the shores of Cape May, MCB Engineering Associates can provide design services to alter, repair, replace or construct a new septic system.

This is just what it sounds like, development on an individual lot.
This is typically associated with the development of one single family home.
Individual lot development plans are probably the most common service we provide to our 'non-developer' clients.
These plans illustrate where a house is being built, provides an analysis of the relevent zoning criteria and provides grading, drainage and other important site planning information.
