M.D. Goodwin "Goody" served in the U.S. army corps of engineers during World War II, and was stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, where he received his initial engineering experience.
After the war, Goody went to work for an HVAC company in El Paso, gaining even further experience in HVAC engineering.
Prior to the 1950s, MEP engineering in the public sector was conducted in a different manner than it is today.
MEP engineering was performed by companies that provided full-service turn-key installations that included design, equipment sales, and construction.
