In 1963, our company founder, Joe Charles Wilson, began work with the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
During his tenure with TDOT, he also attended The University of Tennessee extension in Nashville and pursued his "semi-famous" rodeo career.
After leaving TDOT in 1965, Charles continued surveying with private civil engineering firms until he formed Joe Charles Wilson Statewide Surveying in 1972.
In 1989, the company was restructured as Wilson & Associates, PC.
That same year, WA was awarded a subcontract for the construction surveying on (at that time) the State of Tennessees largest roadway-grading project, Interstate 81 (now I-26) south of Johnson City, Tennessee.
