Mr. Warren Deatrick, P.E., as the President and sole owner organized DEA to specifically provide the highest quality Engineering services possible in the most professional and efficient manner. Warren Deatrick & DEA have more successful Threshold Inspection experience than any other local firm. Over 200 projects have been completed covering most of the State of Florida.

Projects have been completed for over 11 school boards and the State University System, all with excellent results. DEA is a full-service Inspection, Testing, and Geotechnical Engineering firm.

We also provide Structural Inspections for buildings damaged by hurricanes, tornados, fire, autos, etc. Specialized equipment is available for providing balcony railing load tests and concrete pull-out tests. In addition, we provide a wide variety of other testing and inspection services; e.g., nondestructive examination & testing of welds; roofing inspections; condition assessments; pavement testing/analysis, forensic engineering and plant inspections.
Services
Threshold Inspections: Conduct Threshold Inspection Services per the Florida Statue 553 and Engineer of Record's Threshold Inspection Plan; provide comprehensive documentation for quality issues and note the corrective actions that were taken.
Geotechnical: Hand auger borings, de-grubbing/de-mucking inspections; collection of soil samples for lab analysis, proof-rolling inspections, in-place density testing (site & buildings); monitoring of helical & auger cast pilings.
Concrete: Reinforcement inspections including rebar, anchor bolts, embeds for footings, tie columns/beams, slab/elevated decks, tilt panels, formed walls & custom features; sampling of approved mixes including slump, strength specimens, air content, temperature & unit weight; monitoring concrete placement for correct mix designs, placement/consolidation.

DEA is looking for a full-time dispatcher.
The dispatcher position requires communication with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives and others as applicable regarding scheduling and dispatching of approximately 8-10 technicians to project sites.
We are looking for a person that has strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, has great communication skills, works well under pressure, has the ability to be a problem solver and has a willingness to help out when needed.
Qualifications: Excellent organization & communications skills a must.
Working knowledge of General Contractors and / or Construction projects in Central FL is required.
Responsibilities: Make in-person calls and phone calls to current and potential clients (General Contractors, Owners, County/City officials, etc) to ascertain proposal opportunities for providing construction materials and testing services, Threshold Inspection Services, Geotechnical services, roof inspections, forensic engineering &private provider inspections throughout Central FL.
This position involves performing Private Provider inspections at residential & commercial properties throughout Central Florida.
Conduct field inspections of work in progress or completed projects under approved building permits for conformance with the Florida Building Code and other national and local codes or ordinances.
Provide technical advice and consult with architects, engineers, general & specialty contractors and homeowners.
Knowledge of various types of building construction materials and methods and stages of construction in order to be able to determine when violations and defects may most easily be observed and corrected.
The Senior Laboratory Technician is responsible for the daily operation of the laboratory.
He is also responsible for laboratory testing and recordkeeping of all test results and provides on-the-job training of additional laboratory technicians.
The Senior Laboratory Technician position requires ACI Certification as a Concrete Strength Testing Technician, Grade I.
