Volute Engineering Co. designs, builds, and repairs machines, structures, controls and processes. We supply custom built machines, retro-fit kits for existing machines, spare parts, electrical controls, drawings, plans, studies, troubleshooting and repair of almost any sort of machinery. We do research and development projects with fast response times and high quality.
Our in-house shop is equipped to handle a variety of projects, including emergency repairs and rush jobs. We provide mechanical, structural and electrical engineering services to a variety of industries. We primarily work on industrial projects, but also work on commercial, laboratory, research, construction, artistic and restoration projects.
We have years of experience in machine design, maintenance engineering, system integration, cost reduction studies, feasibility studies, research & development, packaging and process design.We have licensed professional engineers registered in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana with considerable experience in industrial and special construction projects.

Volute Engineering was founded in an empty office, in 1990, with small amount of capital and some second hand office furniture.
The company's initial business was consulting engineering and the design and build of custom machines.
Very early on, it became apparent that sub-contracting machine shop work yielded inconsistent quality and constant delays.
Soon, a small machine shop was assembled in basement of an old building in a rough part of Cincinnati.
Machines were scrounged from where ever.
The business prospered and the company moved to a small industrial building in Lockland, Ohio in the mid-90's.
