Services
Established in 1984, GRI continues to provide the Pacific Northwest full-service geotechnical, geologic, and pavement engineering solutions for challenging projects.
Our team focuses on innovative solutions that are practical and meets our clients' objectives.
We serve diverse market sectors giving us a unique perspective on the built environment and ways to improve our local communities.
At GRI, our success is built by our talented team.
Our team provides quality services, creative solutions, and are active participants in the engineering community.
When GRI founder's Dave Driscoll, John Creveling, and Stan Kelsay decided to leave their respective larger companies, they came together to turn their dream of opening a small, employee-owned geotechnical engineering firm into a reality.
Today, GRI is home to more than 45 talented employees and four office locations.
Our geotechnical, geological, pavement, and environmental engineering services have expanded to service a wide variety of market sectors.
Although GRI has grown, we have held on to the small firm mentality and camaraderie that our founders valued so deeply.
GRI is a leader and innovator in seismic resiliency and pavement engineering for aviation facilities and infrastructure at large international commercial airports and smaller general aviation or private airfields.
Our team is very experienced working on projects that follow Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Defense (DOD) guidelines and we are deeply familiar with pavement- and geotechnical-related FAA Advisory Circulars (AC) and DOD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
We draw from an extensive body of geotechnical and pavement experience to respond to the critical time and complex scope and coordination requirements typical of aviation projects, while working closely with our aviation partners to develop a balance between desired performance, risk tolerance, cost, environmental, and constructibility considerations.
Development unites the passion and creativity of architecture with the science and innovation of engineering, and GRI provides the geotechnical support to help our partners bring their vision to reality.
We continuously collaborate with our partners to develop creative, constructible, and sustainable solutions for projects ranging from small, support structures to high rise buildings.
We have diverse experience with these types of projects on sites varying from challenging, complex, urban infill areas to large, undeveloped tracts of land.
The energy landscape is evolving at a rapid rate.
This industry is currently experiencing an increase for power demand, complex regulations and permitting needs, and identifying ways for distribution to consumers.
GRI has been providing services to power and alternative energy leaders across the Pacific Northwest and western United States.
Our team has provided design services for projects of all sizes and worked for a variety of clients, including local, state, and federal agencies and private entities.
