The origins of Templeton Engineering (TE) can be traced back to World War II Veteran Bob Templeton, father of TE owner/president Larry Templeton. In 1941, Bob was drafted into the War. He was placed into the Naval Construction Force, which came to be known as the Seabees. In the pacific Theater, the Seabees completed numerous construction projects.
It was in this setting that Bob developed his talent and acquired his love of operating tractors and other equipment. After getting out of the service, Bob took the "can-do" mentality he gained by working with the Seabees and purchased his first bulldozer. This was the start of "Templeton Grading & Excavation" in North County, San Diego. Bob grew his company into a moderately large grading company with over 70 employees.
From a young age, Larry worked closely with his father, learning the construction business. In 1976, Larry had his own aspirations, and founded his own company, Templeton Engineering, Inc. TE started as an earthwork and demolition company for a wide variety of project sizes and types.
