Manufacturing machinery design, custom automation and development Precision product design, engineering and prototyping. Leveraging 30 years of manufacturing process machine design and build, from high speed electronics manufacturing, injection mold tooling, automobile interior trim molding and more. Our concept is to "hit the floor running" - increasing product quality, reducing product variation and reducing direct labor content.
Frisella Design provides a high return on investment through intelligent engineering of custom automation equipment. With extensive experience on the ground in high volume manufacturing sites, we can consult with your teams to establish new operations or improve existing operations. Our scope encompasses new tooling, how to set up work flow, computer simulations of work flow through your new production line, and help in the selection of equipment, materials, services and people.
Our designers will advance your idea from its earliest concept phases, shape it and synthesize it into an attractive, functional, manufacturable, viable product offering.

Services
Frisella Design (formerly known as IYRIS, LLC) was founded in 2002 to provide design and fabrication services for industrial automation clients in the New England area.
The principals bring over 40 years of combined product, machine design and manufacturing experience to Frisella Design clients.
Phil Frisella, our President and CEO, has over 30 years of product and machine design experience.
Starting out at Stone & Webster Engineering in Boston as an instrumentation designer, he moved on to the aerospace industry where he worked under veteran avionics mechanical engineers and was introduced to the precision and absolute attention to design detail required in that industry.

The Frisella Design team is composed of experts in product and machine design using the latest 3D CAD tools with over 20 years of experience.
We work with a broad range of clients, from internationally known corporations all the way to individual inventors who need demonstration prototypes to secure funding capital.
We develop intelligent, professional designs and practical engineering solutions for the problems faced by businesses of all types.
We can design metal-forming machinery, wire winders, air movers and web-handling equipment.

Great ideas mean nothing if you can't actually bring your manufacturing designs and products into the real world.
Frisella's engineering and design teams have decades of expertise in working out ingenious solutions to make your ideas real.
We'll work with you to create working drawings, CAD renderings and rapid prototypes to give you a product that can be economically manufactured - or give you the proper materials and working prototypes that can be used for demonstration purposes to procure investment funding.

Frisella Design is known for designing and building automation engineering solutions that have confounded other automation companies.
In this example, Frisella has created a custom and very compact Fanuc robotic arm device that takes newly molded large water bottles of various shapes, and inserts them into a stripping device that automatically shears off the plastic waste flash (waste material) left over from the molding process.
The unique design of this compact machine allows it to have a footprint one third the size of the machine it replaces.

Frisella Design specializes in difficult automated solutions that baffle many other engineering companies.
This device allows for the speedy assembly of both short and long run projects, and greatly reduces manual labor, which increases profits while shortening assembly time.
The assembler uses two precision cameras to aid in the pickup and placement of each part in its proper location on the circuit board.
In this project a fully programmed Epson 6-axis robot on a linear track is used for assembly functions.
