CIDA is a woman-owned, multidisciplinary architecture and engineering design firm located in Portland that was established to provide clients with a value driven alternative to the traditional architectural firm. Our design philosophy is founded in the belief that architecture is best when it is a true expression of the people and institutions it serves; we listen to understand.

We create buildings with simple, well-articulated forms that respond appropriately to both function and environment. We remind ourselves daily that without our clients we wouldn't exist as a company, and without happy clients we wouldn't be amongst the most reputable architecture and engineering firms in the Pacific Northwest. As a result more than 90 percent of our annual revenue comes from repeat clients or referrals from clients.

Our mission is simple, and it has proven to resonate with everyday business owners in Oregon, Washington and beyond who are looking to renovate the space they have, need more room with a new addition, or aspire to build ground-up with a brand new facility.

CIDA is a woman-owned (WBE #10209) multidisciplinary architecture and engineering design firm located in Portland that was established to provide clients with a value driven alternative to the traditional architectural firm.
Our design philosophy is founded in the belief that architecture is best when it is a true expression of the people and institutions it serves; we listen to understand.
We create buildings with simple, well-articulated forms that respond appropriately to both function and environment.
CIDA's long history of successful commercial development includes low- to mid-rise office buildings, business and mixed use campuses and countless tenant improvements.
We know that market perception is crucial in the success of a commercial development and our projects convey a quality image while achieving a high level of flexibility and efficiency.
We offer our clients sound advice regarding site selection and layout, the quality of building materials, architectural design and detailing, system performance and efficiency to meet Class A or Class B office space standards.
CIDA has extensive experience in the development and design of healthcare facilities from medical campuses to individual practitioner's space plans.
CIDA understands the complexities of different modalities and each one's unique requirements to serve the patient while maintaining a viable practice.
We enjoy working directly with individual practitioners, as well as facility representatives, to create practical spaces that provide for patient care, confidentiality, and comfort in cadence with the ergonomic requirements and other needs of the professionals that work in these spaces.
CIDA's industrial and food processing experience includes over 25 years of working with successful businesses nationwide.
From new construction to renovation and reorganization of existing facilities, CIDA seeks creative solutions which value time and project budget.
Our knowledge of seasonal product and commodity issues as well as USDA compliance and food safety has been instrumental in meeting critical production dates.
We work with equipment manufacturers to facilitate building designs that do not compromise productivity, maintenance or employee accessibility.
Non-profit groups make up an important segment of CIDA's project portfolio.
It is for this reason that we provide unparalleled services to our non-profit clients.
We design with the intention of improving the communities and people our projects impact.
This is most impactful and apparent in our non-profit work.
In addition to concentrating on the end users' goals, we understand that budgets - construction, operational and maintenance - must be at the forefront of project team discussions.
The latter of these is all-too-often underfunded requiring additional consideration to product life expectancy, durability and even flexibility of spatial functions during design and construction.
