The League of American Bicyclists has recognized Traffic Engineers, Inc. (TEI) with a GOLD Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) award! TEI is one of six firms to achieve Bicycle Friendly Business recognition in the Houston. Neighborhood walking tours were a core component of the Healthy Community Design Workshops for the Community Transformation Initiative.

TEI also led educational walks and tours as part of the Better Block event organized. In honor of Bike to Work day, League-certified instructors from Bike Houston taught a dozen TEI engineers and planners to be better, safer cyclists! More than two dozen METRO bus routes stop within three blocks of TEI, including Park & Ride service along most freeways and frequent local or express service in the Westheimer, Washington, Antoine, Hardy/Elysian, East Freeway, and Katy Freeway corridors.
